How to find materials in Starfield

In Starfield, locating and gathering materials is essential for your survival and progress. To find Starfield materials, follow these steps:

  • Select a Planet or Moon: From the map screen, choose a planet or moon you wish to explore.
  • Scan the Surface: If you are close enough, initiate a scan to reveal the natural resources available on the selected celestial body.
  • View Scan Results: The scanned resources will populate a list on the left side of the screen, displaying the materials found on the surface.
  • Show Resources: Use the ‘Show Resources’ prompt to obtain a topographical view of the planet’s terrain, with each resource color-coded to match the scan results.

By following these steps, you can easily identify the locations of various Starfield materials and plan your gathering strategy accordingly.
