Many fans of fighting games are already looking forward to the near future as both the Tekken and Street Fighter series will feature a new chapter. But some gamers may be asking themselves: is Tekken 8 crossplay?
The series has been a staple of the Sony Playstation in the past, propelling the console to fantastic sales, together with other great games. But, at the time, multiplayer was all about having a friend with you on the couch, now one important feature is allowing players to be fighting directly against others on consoles or platforms different from ours.
Time, then, to check out everything we know about the eighth chapter in the series and see if Tekken 8 crossplay will be a thing.
Will Tekken 8 feature crossplay?
Series director Katsuhiro Harada has indeed confirmed on Twitter that Tekken 8 will be crossplay. He has also mentioned that he had already proposed the feature around the launch of the previous generation of consoles, PS4 and Xbox One. Apparently, Sony and Microsoft had responded no.
Things are different this time around, luckily. Gamers will be pleased to know that Tekken 8 players will be able to compete against anyone. But still the question remains when will Tekken 8 be released? Unfortunately, there are no news at this time.
The game is still being tested in beta, by several players and developers. Still, we do not have any confirmation if the eighth chapter in the series will see the light in 2023. Or, perhaps, next year. We will have to be patient for a few more months, that is for sure.
But, while you’re waiting, you can definitely check out more interesting games. Such as our full walkthrough for Chained Echoes. The latest news about Redfall or even all the updates on newest Alone in the Dark chapter.
