In the game, there are two types of classes: base and advanced. While most units start with a base class, some join your team as an advanced class. As their names suggest, advanced classes have access to stronger weapons, as well as the ability to use more weapon types than base classes do.

By changing class, units are able to continue gaining stat boosts and obtain new skills. Most base classes have a max level of 20, so it’s important to upgrade to advanced classes to keep growing.

Master Seals and Second Seals are essential items that allow units to change classes. You can get both kinds of seals from the standard item shop for 2,500 gold. They are single-use items. Keep in mind that the item shop will have a limited supply in the early game. However, every few chapters, they will be restocked. After completing chapter 18, the shop will have an infinite supply.

To access the menu for changing classes, you must be in the overworld, in Somniel, or when preparing for battles. To reach it, make your way to the inventory section and click on a character. You will find the option to change class at the bottom of the list.
