The tactical RPG was released for the Nintendo Switch on the 20th of January. If you’ve played the previous installment Fire Emblem: Three Houses, you will be able to spot some familiar faces in the game.

In the game, there might be some items that you’re not quite sure what to do with. Well, in this guide, we’ll show you when to use Master Seal in Fire Emblem Engage!

When to use Master Seal in Fire Emblem Engage

At the initial stages of the game, you won’t be able to get a lot of Master Seals. However, after completing Chapter 11, you can slowly start buying some. And at Chapter 17, they will become plentiful as you can buy as many as your heart desires. You can use them to upgrade your units.

But when should you use Master Seals? The answer is: as early as possible. You can actually start once a unit hits Level 10 in its Basic Class. To use the Master Seal, press + when in Somniel and open your Inventory.

Select the character that you want to change and choose ‘Change Class’ to one of the Advanced options. This will reset the level of the unit to 1, but now you will be able to upgrade it as an Advanced Class. These are more powerful than Basic Classes at their counterparts at level 10 or even level 20.

Note that you will need a Master Seal for each unit you want to upgrade. So, you’ll need to collect many of these. Now that you know when to use Master Seals in Fire Emblem Engage, go out there and level up your characters to 10!
