How to unlock maglocks in Dead Island 2 

To unlock maglocks in Dead Island 2, you need to destroy the electrical boxes connected to the lock by following the cables from the locked door. They are those beefed-up locks that come equipped with electrical boxes connected by cables, and they can be quite puzzling for players, especially in the early stages of the game. Although each maglock has a slightly different arrangement and number of electrical boxes, the solution is always the same – follow the cables and destroy the electrical boxes.

For the first door with a maglock that you come across in the game, it is in a little security hut near an underground car park. If you look up, you’ll see two thick bands of cables. One is green, and it runs along the top of the hut and around to the right. Follow the green cable until you see an electrical box with a glass front panel. You can destroy this box with a weapon.

The other cable is blue, and it runs into the building itself. Go to the back of the hut and look through the window there. You’ll see the blue cables running into another electrical box to the left of the door. Smash the window, equip a weapon, aim at the box, and then throw the weapon to destroy the box. When you destroy both boxes, the door will unlock, and you’ll be able to get inside to get the loot.
