Dead Island 2 – when was it announced?

Despite the game’s prolonged development, Dead Island 2 has generated a lot of buzz since its announcement. The first trailer dropped in 2014, and it was an icon in the zombie transformation cinematic. That was just the beginning. The recent Gamescom 2022 reveal trailer and new in-game footage have only added to the excitement.

While the excitement for the first trailer eventually died out as the release of the game got delayed, players were still hopeful for a future release. As seen in the trailer, the player starts on an evacuation plane, where a band of fellow survivors are rescued from the doomed streets of LA. The plane crashes, leaving you stranded and forced to fend for yourself. During a scuffle with a zombie who bites your character, you will realize that you are immune to the virus that turns others into monsters. Your new mission is to gather fellow survivors through the abandoned city and contact the government for rescue.
