Minecraft enchantments are a key aspect of the game. This is especially true when it comes to overcoming various challenges, such as exploring the world at night or navigating deep caves. In this guide, we will take you through what you can with the enchantment Minecraft Smite.

As you may already know, smite is a popular axe and sword enchantment that allows you to increase the damage dealt to undead mobs. It can be applied to both axes and swords.

How to use Smite in Minecraft

In the game, you will find that there are five levels of Smite available. Each level significantly increases the damage dealt by 2.5 points, thus making it a valuable enchantment to have in your arsenal, especially when dealing against undead enemies.

However, it’s important to be aware of the drawbacks of the Smite enchantment. Smite doesn’t work with Bane of Arthropods, Sharpness, or Cleaving (which isn’t even released yet). So, you can’t use Smite on an item that already has one of these enchantments.

Here are all the undead mobs which are affected by the Smite enchantment: chicken jockeys, husks, drowned, zombies, phantoms, skeletons, skeleton horses, strays, spider jockeys, skeleton horsemen, withers, zoglins, wither skeletons, zombie villagers, zombie horses, and zombified piglins.

When it comes to obtaining enchantments in Minecraft, there are two main ways to go about it. The first is through enchanted books, which are available for Smite on axes with Java Edition. The second is through the enchanting table, which is applicable for Smite on axes with Bedrock Edition and on swords with both editions.

So, now you know how to use the Smite enchantment. Another Minecraft guide you might want to check out is how to get the Entity Wizard. Also, feel free to take a look at a new game with Tchia – how long to beat the RPG game?
