To embark on the “Finish the Masterwork Weapon” quest, you must first visit the Blighted Village, located east of the Windmill. Inside a small house, you’ll find Highcliff’s journal, which contains valuable information about the masterwork weapon. Your goal is to find the main ingredient, discover the recipe, and create one of three variations of the powerful melee weapon.
Step 1: Obtaining the Recipe
Upon discovering Highcliff’s journal, you’ll learn about the main ingredient required for crafting the masterwork weapon: Sussur Bark. To find this ingredient, you’ll need to venture into the treacherous Underdark. Follow these steps to locate the Sussur Tree and acquire the Sussur Bark:
- Travel to the Underdark, a perilous area filled with dangerous monsters.
- Look for the Sussur Tree, easily identifiable by its giant roots.
- Climb the vines near the tree to reach the roots and obtain the Sussur Bark.
Keep in mind that the Underdark is fraught with peril, so be prepared for challenging battles along the way.
Step 2: Crafting the Masterwork Weapon
Once you have obtained the Sussur Bark, return to the house in the Blighted Village. You’ll need a key to enter the workshop located outside the building. Follow these instructions to complete the crafting process:
- Interact with the Melting Furnace in the workshop to ignite the fire.
- Use the blacksmith’s bellows to increase the heat of the furnace.
- Place the Sussur Bark in the empty slot of the Melting Furnace to color the flames blue.
- Place a dagger, greatsword, or sickle in the empty slot of the Melting Furnace.
