How to increase inventory space in Alan Wake 2

To increase your inventory, you must get inventory upgrades in Alan Wake 2 and this is done by collecting satchels as Saga Anderson and unlocking the Word of Power perk as Alan Wake. These are found throughout the story with Sarah having two upgrades in Chapter 2 and one more in Chapter 5 and Alan having 27 upgrades.

There are three upgrades for Sarah Anderson and here is where to find all three satchels:

Satchel #1: Return 2 Chapter, The Heart – Head to the Cauldron Lake general store, defeat the Taken enemy, and loot the room from where this enemy came out.
Satchel #2: Return 2 Chapter, The Heart – Head to the Cauldron Lake coast and follow the coastline eastwards until you find the Cult Stash under some brambles. Opening the stash will grant you an upgrade satchel.
Satchel #3: Return 5 Chapter, Old Gods – Head to the Bright Falls Fishing Shack while having the Bolt Cutters. You’ll see a tall building with the ‘Fresh Seafood’ words typed on its front side. Use the Bolt Cutters to go towards it and check the small shack next to it which has a Cult Stash. The code for this stash is 697.

All Alan Wake 2 Words of Power locations

As for Alan Wake, you must locate Words of Power glyphs that are based on the Word of Stuff: Magic Pocket perk. They can be found all around the world but only when playing as Alan Wake and there are 27 of them.

Keep in mind that as long as you haven’t reached the end of Initiation 8: Zane’s Film, you can go back and collect all Words of Power without issue.

#1 Word of Fix: Head to the alley on the left of the Caldera St. Station. Use the light to find an opening at the end of it.
#2 Word of Lamp: Head right of the Caldera St. Station just in front of some stairs. Use a light, head up the stairs, and turn right to pass through the tracks. Climb the ladder on your left and enter one of the doors on the roof. Head outside to the next roof and you’ll find the Word of Power on the other side of the roof.
#3 Word of Gun: Head to the fenced area south of Tim Breaker. From there, check the wall behind the police car in the fenced area.
#4 Word of War: Start from Tim Breaker and go up the ladder south of him. The Word of Power will be on the ground, next to some air conditioning units.
#5 Word of Action: Under the track, below Draft Street.
#6 Word of Fix: Across the Old Diner building in Wheeler Street.
#7 Word of Gun: Inside the Caldera Station, in one of the abandoned train wagons.
#8 Word of Aid: South of the Main Tunnel Break Room, behind a train car.
#9 Word of Lamp: Far west side of the Main Tunnel, in a side room after using a light.
#10 Word of War: Start next to the Derailed Train scene. Climb the ladder and pass through the obstacles behind you while looking at the ceiling.
#11 Word of Action: Start on the east side of the Abandoned Station. Head down the ladder and you’ll find it behind a breakable grey panel.
#12 Word of Fix: From the last location, head down the stairs and look behind the prison cell bars to find it.
#13 Word of Lamp: Start from the Shrine St. Station. Use a light and head to the area where the ground is flooded. Check above you to find it.
#14 Word of Gun: Head to the Shrine St. Station again and check the outer side of the abandoned train in the middle with its lights on.
#15 Word of Action: Head to the Shrine St. Station again, and you’ll find it inside the small room on the top left side.
#16 Word of Fix: From the previous location, turn right to the next room and go up the stairs. Straight head, behind the prison cell bars, you’ll find the next Word of Power.
#17 Word of Aid: Head to Ocean Ave and check left for some garbage cans with a ‘Lost’ graffiti above them. Check further up to find it.
#18 Word of Aid: Head to the alley on the far east side of the map and pass through the cardboard tunnel. On the roof right outside, you’ll find the next Word of Power.
#19 Word of Lamp: In the same area, head to the middle and climb all the way up on the roof. You’ll find it on a Water Silo, just below the ‘Final Casey’ billboard.
#20 Word of Gun: From the same area while looking at the billboard, head left and go down the stairs. Crawl below the stairs and check above you to find it.
#21 Word of Stuff: On the second floor of the Oceanview Hotel, check the ceiling above the bar.
#22 Word of War: Head inside the room 224 bathroom and shoot the half-broken plants on the backside.
#23 Word of War: On the second-floor hallway, check the left gap above the doors.
#24 Word of Fix: In the Lobby scene, go up the stairs and check on your right.
#25 Word of Action: In the same location go to the end of the bathroom below the stairs and check the ceiling.
#26 Word of Stuff: Head to the rooftop spotlights and you’ll see it on the nearby building, on its lower side.
#27 Word of Lamp: Head to the Poet’s Cinema and while looking at Tim Breaker, turn around and check the Silo above you.

It’s Personal (Word of Action) – Increases damage dealt to nearby enemies
Paint the Town (Word of War) – Increases double-barrel shotgun damage when hitting multiple enemies with one shot
Personal Space (Word of Gun) – Increases double-barrel shotgun knockback force
