Luckily, with the addition of the City Living Expansion pack this career has been successfully added to the game. Your Sim takes part in a lot of peaceful protests and may even become an elected official whose policies will change society for the greater good.

Here’s the guide to The Sim 4 Politician career

You can start this career option from the Career Panel Menu. Keep in mind that throughout this career, your Sim needs to be Confident. So, having the Self-Assured trait and constantly making your Sim brush their teeth and make them look in the mirror will surely keep their confidence high.

There is also a work-from-home job option, thus, if you want more time on your hands for other activities and you can go for it. You can also get Reward traits with the help of satisfaction points such as Carefree, Incredibly Friendly, Savant, and Shameless.

When you begin this career, the first thing you need to do is to choose a cause. The following are all of the causes the game provides you with:

  • Foundation of less mischief
  • No Sim left behind
  • Simoleons for everyone
  • Speak for the trees
  • Word United

You can change your Sim’s cause anytime you want. After picking up your cause you can actually start progressing through Levels 1-4, as your daily task is to promote your case.

You can do this by protesting or talking with other Sims and convincing them to support your cause. Always make your Sim work hard and at level 4, they will unlock the ability to give speeches and will also get a podium. This latter is a portable item that you put in your inventory.

Once you complete level 4, you will get the option to choose between two specializations, Politician and Charity Organizer.

Politician Career Branch

In this career, having a higher level of Charisma is a must as your daily tasks will revolve around securing votes. As your SIm progresses through the levels, the number of votes you will need will also increase. Thus, your Sim has increased their friendship with other Sims, they can debate and make speeches to better their reputation with them.

Charity Organizer Branch

Even in this branch, your Sim needs a higher level of Charisma. Being a Charity Organizer means that for your Sim’s daily tasks, they will need to collect donations. As they progress through the levels in this branch, the amount of money they need for donations will keep increasing.

Similar to the Politician branch, your Sim will need a better reputation and stronger friendships with other Sims. The only major difference is that your Sim will get paid less and will have shorter working hours.
