How to build a coop in Stardew Valley

You can purchase a coop from the Carpenter’s shop. To buy a basic coop, you’ll need to gather 300 wood, 100 stone, and save up 4,000 gold. Take all of these resources to Robin at the Carpenter’s shop in the northern part of Pelican Town (near the mine entrance).

After paying Robin, you will then get to select where the coop will be located on your farm. When you’ve selected an area, Robin will then appear on your farm and start building a coop in the location you selected. It will take Robin 3 days to build the coop.

The basic coop can only house four chickens, which you can purchase from Marnie, who is located south of your farm. Upgrading to larger coops allows you to keep ducks, rabbits, and more.

Coops allow you to process animal resources like eggs into artisan goods with the right tools. These resources can be sold for lots of gold and are a good way to increase your profits.
