It’s all part of an event which will bring you to the end of your journey. The energy required to form the tornado is generated by a group of small sea fortresses scattered throughout the area. Players must strategically destroy these fortresses to dispel the atmospheric column, revealing the hidden Sea Fortress within.
During the third and final chapter of the Legend of the Veil voyage, a green tornado emerges on the outskirts of the Sea of Thieves, above open water. Surrounded by three Ghost Garrison emplacements, this tornado guards a Haunted Fort filled with valuable loot, including the coveted Chest of Legends. Players embarking on this voyage must strategically destroy the three surrounding emplacements with cannonballs to dispel the tornado and reveal the treasure within the Haunted Fort.
In addition to the Legends of the Veil voyage, the green tornado can also appear above haunted islands during the Ghost Fleet World Event. This event summons a fleet of ghost ships, led by the nefarious Captain Flameheart. As the green tornado looms overhead, players must engage in a four-wave naval battle against the spectral vessels. The ultimate objective is to destroy Flameheart’s flagship, the Burning Blade, during the final wave to successfully complete the event.
