As you make progress through the story, you will see auto-saves. In case you die from a fatal zombie attack, you will be able to start again from these saves. However, there is no provision in the game to manually save your progress.

Saving your game manually gives you a sense of security, which diminishes that typical survival horror feeling.

However, it can be annoying when you are halfway through a mission and you need to leave, as your progress won’t save. If you leave midway through a mission, you’ll need to restart it from the beginning.
