What are the best teams comps to use in Darkest Dungeon 2?

At the start of the game, the best team composition is undoubtedly the following: Man-at-Arms, Highwayman, Grave Robber, and Plague Doctor. You will be able to expand upon your starting heroes’ initial abilities. The Highwayman tends to do more DPS from the second position, while the Grave Robber focuses on damaging backline enemies. 

For the mid-game, the best team composition is the Ravager Hellion, Vanguard Man-at-Arms, Surgeon Plague Doctor, and Virtuoso Jester. This team comp is the “safest” option for the majority of the game. The Surgeon Plague Doctor is arguably the best overall healer in the game, while the Virtuoso Jester is a pure enabler. This team composition is remarkably flexible, and you can play with the DPS spots quite a bit.

For the late game, the best team composition is the Tempest Leper, Scourge Flagellant, Alchemist Plague Doctor, and Virtuoso Jester. The Leper is our tank of choice over the usual Man-at-Arms recommendation, as his damage potential basically makes him a DPS hybrid. The Plague Doctor and Flagellant’s synergistic skills allow them to push an incredible amount of Blight damage. The Virtuoso Jester is a flex spot and can be replaced by a Highwayman.

While these team compositions are effective, it’s important to remember that Darkest Dungeon 2’s versatile team-building system allows you to explore so many possibilities. However, these team compositions are a great starting point for any Darkest Dungeon 2 player.
