Wavetale was first released in December, charming the world with its beautiful Wind Waker-like graphics. However, players have only been able to explore its vast open ocean world by buying the game digitally up until this point. Now, however, you can buy a physical edition of Wavetale on Nintendo Switch.
Thanks to Super Rare Games, who is publishing the boxed version, the Wavetale physical release will come in two different versions: standard and SteelBook.
The standard release comes with the full game on a cartridge, a full-colour manual, interior case artwork, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards, which feature characters from the game recreated in stunning art.
Meanwhile, the SteelBook edition will come with everything you get in the normal edition, plus the aforementioned special edition SteelBook case, a slipcover, and a postcard.
Wavetale’s physical Nintendo Switch release will be available from May 25th at 6 pm BST/10 am PDT/1 pm EDT. You will be able to buy Wavetale exclusively from the Super Rare Games store page and it will be available worldwide.
There will only be a total of 4,000 physical copies of Wavetale printed, though, with each edition having 2,000 available. So if you’ve been eagerly awaiting a physical release, then head on over there and secure a copy, because they won’t last long.
Wavetale is an action-adventure game with a reliance on story, where you can traverse a vast sea and meet its eccentric inhabitants, like haggard fishermen and mysterious hermits. You play as Sigrid, a young girl who obtains the power to walk on water from an enigmatic shadow that she meets.
Set in a decaying archipelago called Strandvilles, you’ll travel the world, helping its inhabitants and defeating bad guys along the way.
Wavetale was first released on December 12, 2022, on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles digitally. This new physical Nintendo Switch edition is being created and published by Super Rare Games and will be a limited run.
