In the indie survival game Stranded Deep, you are the survivor of a mysterious plane crash in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. You will need to fend for yourself, collecting materials to craft the things you need, and one of them is a water still. Here’s how to use a water still in Stranded Deep.

Water is essential for your survival, and even though you have the ocean all around, you can’t use it. That’s because ocean water is too salty, and not drinkable.

By building some useful structures, you will get far ahead. So, let’s find out how to build and use the water still in Stranded Deep!

Stranded Deep: How To Use A Water Still

In Stranded Deep, you will need to manage your hunger and thirst levels. As you need continuous access to drinkable water, you will need to build a water still. You can do so with the materials you collect in your surroundings.

Before you can use the water still, you need to know how to construct it. Here are the things that you need to build a Water Still in Stranded Deep:

  • 3 Rocks
  • 1 Cloth
  • 1 Lashing
  • 1 Palm Frond
  • 1 Coconut Flask

Once you have built the structure, you can place it on an unoccupied piece of land. To get drinking water, place Palm Fronds or Fibrous Leaves that you have collected into the water still. This will generate water over time.

The coconut flask in the middle of the structure will hold the water for you. There is an indicator that shows you how much water you have. When you have some, hold E to drink from the water still. You can drink up to four times. The device will also collect water when it rains.

So, that’s all you need to do to use a Water Still in Stranded Deep. For more guides, feel free to check out our tutorials on how to get buoy balls and how to get lashing.
