Fire Emblem Engage
There is no better way to start the new year right than with a classic Nintendo franchise making its big return in 2023. Having been three years since the last release of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Intelligent Systems is back with its latest tactical-RPG entry for the Nintendo Switch. Fans of turn-based combat rejoice!
Fire Emblem: Engage ditches its popular Three Houses dating sim elements for the more classic army recruit design, however, this time introduces a new hero with the ability to utilize emblem rings that call forth the power of past legendary Fire Emblem heroes.
Fire Emblem Engage is set to release on January 20th for Nintendo Switch.
Since being delayed back in 2022, Bethesda’s Starfield will finally land its spaceship in 2023. Bethesda’s latest games showcase event had shown off that players can expect to finely customize their very own spaceship and take it to space in a massive open-universe-like setting where you’ll get to visit multiple solar systems consisting of hundreds of planets.
Bethesda has revealed that the game is going to feature an intuitive story filled with factions to join and a robust character creation system implementing elements like the character’s backstory, physical design, and more.
Starfield is set to release in 2023 on Xbox Series X/S and Steam.
Sea of Stars
Sabotage Studios debuts the release of its upcoming retro-inspired turn-based RPG, Sea of Stars. It will definitely have to go against a similar game also released in 2023, Chained Echoes, how will it stack up against it?
Sea of Stars features a classic turn-based combat system very similar to that of the iconic, Chrono Trigger. The retro aesthetic makes for an ever-so-gorgeous pixelated appearance that incorporates a clever dynamic lighting mechanic that will recolor the world based on cycles like day and night, as well as with weather effects.
Sea of Stars is set to release in 2023 on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
Mega Man Battle Network: Legacy Collection
The popular Gameboy Advance series Mega Man Battle Network is back! Well, back again, maybe? But this time, it is returning to modern consoles and PC. The collection will feature all six games released on Gameboy Advance with the addition of some new remaster-like features exclusively on the collection.
Players can make use of the high-resolution filter for a better viewing experience and Capcom announced that it will also feature its first-time-ever online multiplayer support where you can battle and trade with friends.
Mega Man Battle Network: Legacy Collection is to release on April 14th for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
