Are you looking forward to Arkane’s latest space-themed RPG? We know we sure are, as everything we’ve seen out of the game seems to be quite interesting. Bethesda is following the development of this AAA title and we can be fairly sure it is going to be another mastodontic open-world trek when the Starfield release date eventually rolls around.
Bethesda had officially announced Arkane space-themed RPG a while ago, but unfortunately, the game got delayed. So, we’ll be forced to wait a little more than it was originally planned, but fret not as this might also mean (hopefully!) that the game will come out not needing one of those dreaded and hefty day-one patches.
But enough talk, let’s see everything we know about Starfield release date, its gameplay, and all the latest news.
When is the Starfield release date?
Starfield will release on September 6, 2023. This comes directly from Todd Howard in a video on the Bethesda Softworks YouTube channel. Starfield has had numerous delays to the game that have seen it pushed back further and further. Luckily, this seems like the final concrete date, so get ready to wrap up and play for hundreds of hours over winter.
The game was originally announced for a November 2022 release, but it got delayed and will now release in the first half of 2023. Luckily, the game seems to still be on track for that date, so let’s hope no more delays occur because we want to launch into space already.
Starfield gameplay
From what we’ve seen on the trailer and also from what Bethesda’s CEO Todd Howard has explained, we can expect to be busy in both base building and exploration. Our main character can be of many different races, including some rather scary alien ones. As for exploration, we can expect over 1000 planets and, while there will be some procedural generation involved, Howard mentioned there is definitely an abundance of hand-crafted content.
We have caught a glimpse of the cities that we will get to explore and they seem very promising. Along with being huge, they all present different styles of architecture and look like real breathing spaces. Also, as a bit of a homage to Oblivion, the adoring fan will be back as a NPC in Starfield too.
Starfield latest news
From what we’ve seen and from Todd Howard’s comments, it seems like Starfield will feature no multiplayer of any kind. Much like Bethesda’s previous heavy hitters, Starfield is going to be a PC and Xbox exclusive.
