Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Jahandar - cutscene after beating the boss.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Jahandar – boss guide

This Jahandar boss guide in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will help you beat one of the first bosses and progress the main story. Jahandar is one of the first major bosses you’ll face, and you have to beat it if you want to progress in the game. However, its big size and strong AoE attacks can make this fight fairly challenging. To help you with it, this guide will go through its moves and attack patterns, as well as the best strategy and amulets to use against it.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Jahandar - Jahandar enters phase 2 after this cutscene on 75% hp.

How to beat Jahandar in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

To beat Jahandar in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, parry his yellow charge attack, use Athra Surge whenever it’s available, and dodge its tail attack. The most important thing is parrying Jahandar’s charge. Parrying it will deal a lot of damage and leave the boss vulnerable for a few seconds. As a result, you’ll be able to deal even more damage. Also, parrying grants Athra Surge charge, so make sure to parry any attack that you can.

As for amulets, use any amulets you have unlocked. It’s fairly early in the game, so you won’t have many options. After all, the main purpose of this fight is to make you familiar with parrying and dodging. Ideally, I would also recommend having upgraded your HP potions once before engaging in this fight.

Also, keep in mind that the fight has two phases. The second one occurs at 75% HP, where Jahandar jumps up on a pillar, and a cutscene plays. There are no major differences between the two phases, other than the fact that Jahandar’s tail attack is enhanced during phase 2.

Jahandar attack patterns

In terms of attack patterns, to beat Jahandar in PoP: TLC, you need to memorize the following moves:

  1. Front Slash & Tail Sweep: If you’re right in front or behind it, Jahandar will rapidly attack with its paw or tail. To counter these attacks, parry at the right time or dodge away
  2. Tail Stomp: Jahandar stomps the ground with his tail, which deals AoE damage and leaves a poison pit behind. During phase 2, the tail will then follow you to deal a second instance of damage. To dodge this, run away once the boss strikes its tail in the ground and keep running until the tail comes out for the second hit.
  3. Yellow Charge: Jahandar flies back, its eyes glow yellow, and rushes towards you. The best counter here is to parry this attack since it will deal a lot of damage and temporarily stagger the boss
  4. Purple Sphere: Jahandar summons a purple sphere in the air that follows you. Whenever it’s above you, it will throw projectiles that damage you. To counter this attack, hit the sphere with your bow, shuriken, or aerial attacks.
  5. Aerial Stomp: Jahandar flies into the air, dashes above you, and stomps the ground, dealing AoE damage. To dodge this, start running away once Jahandar flies into the air.

Once you defeat Jahandar, you’ll complete the ‘Lost in Mount Qaf’ main quest. Also, you’ll earn 350 upgrade crystals and a Soma Tree Flower that increases your max HP.

To summarize this Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Jahandar boss guide, you can beat this boss by mastering parrying and dodging. Parry its yellow charge to deal damage and any other attack you can to generate Athra Surge. Don’t forget to dodge its tail stomp since it can’t be parried. With enough practice, you’ll be able to take Jahandar down easily. Also, since you’re just starting in the game, check out our guide on the best tips and tricks in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
