Is Dungeons 4 coop?

Are you interested in picking up Dungeons 4 for its coop features? Here’s everything you need to know about multiplayer. Dungeons 4 is the latest addition to the Dungeons series and many players are hoping for an improvement over the previous game’s multiplayer features. Dungeons 4 coop explained – what to expect

While Dungeons 4 has the co-op tag on Steam and you can play with your friends, it’s more of a shared screen feature than a multiplayer. Similar to Dungeons 3, there is only a shared control coop. Up to two players can play through one dungeon together while sharing control of everything. Unfortunately, there is no actual multiplayer mode in Dungeons 4 where each player has their own dungeon.

Additionally, since co-op focuses on shared control, it can get boring pretty quickly. This is because one player will be idling most of the time and won’t have much to do.

To make things worse, the developers have confirmed in a recent Steam discussion that they aren’t planning to add co-op with separate dungeons. The current multiplayer feature is all the game’s going to have, at least for the near future.

To summarize, while Dungeons 4 has coop available, it’s not what you’d expect. The current multiplayer feature only allows up to two players to have shared control of the same dungeon. There is no co-op with separate dungeons. Additionally, there are not enough things to do for both players in the same dungeon, so co-op can get boring easily.
