In the magical world of Hogwarts Legacy, you will come across several mysteries. This includes doors that seem unbreachable. However, with the help of the Hogwarts Legacy lockpicking ability, you will be able to open them. Let’s find out how to unlock the ability!

The lockpicking mechanism of the game is in the form of a minigame, and is a valuable skill to learn. You will be able to reach new collectibles, chests, and secret areas that were previously locked to you.

Well, there’s no time to waste, then! Let’s find out how you can get the Hogwarts Legacy lockpicking ability!

How to get the Hogwarts Legacy lockpicking ability

The first thing you’ll need to do to get the lockpicking ability is to unlock the Alohomora spell. You can get this simply by progressing through the story. The quest that you are looking for is The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament. You can get this quest from Mr. Moon, on the way to Hogsmeade.

When the season of the game changes to autumn, the quest will be available to you. Complete this quest in order to gain the ability to unlock Level 1 locked doors and chests. Now that you have the ability, you will need to learn how to actually pick the lock. Basically, you will need to align a green and red spark in the correct positions for the cogs to spin.

You will need to use the appropriate keys for your device to individually control the green and red sparks in the center. This entails the left and right stick on console and the Q and E keys on PC. Turn the sparks until they slot into the color-coded cogs, and you will have successfully picked the lock.
