How to open eyeball chests in Hogwarts Legacy 

When you find an eyeball chest, it will look straight at the player with its singular eyeball. Though it may be unsettling, you need to figure out a way to open the chest and reveal the loot inside. They are a source of quick cash, as they always have 500 Galleons inside, along with other randomized gear.

When you approach an eyeball chest, it will be alerted. The eye will watch your every move, which means that it won’t open while it knows that you’re there. You will need to sneak up on them when they’re not looking. And no, crouching doesn’t work here. Opening these chests will be difficult in the early game as you still don’t have the spell you need to conceal yourself. 

The spell you need is the Disillusionment Charm. You can learn it from Sebastian Sallow during the main quest called Secrets of the Restricted Section. You will be using the spell to sneak past some students and into the Library in this quest.
