Where to find the Missing Shipment in Baldur’s Gate 3
The first step of the Missing Shipment quest is to find the document itself. Head to the Risen Road (X:24; Y:526), where you will come across a grim scene with bodies strewn all around. It seems that several merchants fell victim to an attack. Be cautious, as a pack of hyenas lurks nearby and can transform into gnolls as you approach them.
Finding Rugan and the Gnoll Warlord
After dealing with the gnolls and hyenas, continue your journey north until you spot a sloping path with rock formations (X:34; Y:605). In the distance, you’ll notice a cave where two warriors are trapped. This cave is teeming with numerous gnolls led by a powerful warlord.
To ensure victory in this battle, it is advisable to strategically position your characters on an elevated rock formation, providing them with the advantage of higher ground. This will allow you to execute powerful attacks and even use abilities like Thunderwave and Shove to your advantage. Additionally, consider leveraging your Illithid Wisdom on the Gnoll Warlord, as it is corrupted by a Mind Flayer Parasite. You can convince it to focus solely on the two soldiers and eliminate its own kin.
Depending on the outcome of the battle, several scenarios can unfold. If the soldiers survive, you can engage in a conversation with them and gather valuable information about the Zhentarim Hideout. However, if you fail a dialogue check or if the soldiers and regular gnolls are defeated, you must be swift in leaving the area before it becomes hostile. Make sure to loot the Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen from the Gnoll Warlord, which can enhance your Illithid Powers.
Reaching the Zhentarim Hideout
Now that you have the chest, your next objective is to locate the Zhentarim Hideout. Follow the path leading west until you reach Waukeen’s Rest (X:113; Y:608). Here, you’ll come across a burning manor, and this is your first opportunity to meet Counselor Florrick, an NPC who can prove invaluable later in the game. Explore the back of the manor to discover a barn, triggering a cutscene where Sentry Salazon keeps a watchful eye on you. Pass the dialogue check to avoid any unfortunate incidents.
Descend into the hatch near Salazon, which will lead you to the Zhentarim Basement. At the back of the basement, you’ll find an old wardrobe cabinet. Interact with it to reveal the hidden passage. This passage will take you to a large, cavernous area serving as the base of operations for the Zhentarim mercenaries. Approach the leader, Zarys, and hand over the chest. If you refuse to open the chest, you will get a powerful heavy crossbow, Harold.
