It sounds straightforward, but getting your filthy little farmer’s hands on this item is trickier than it looks and sounds. Some types of wood are even in different areas of the map and have a tiny chance to drop.
Read on below to find out how to get Hardwood in Stardew Valley and all the best ways that we know of gathering the precious resource for your farms – and it’s closer than you might think.
How to get Hardwood in Stardew Valley
You can obtain Hardwood by breaking Tree Stumps or Old Logs around the map. You will first need to upgrade to a Copper Axe to be able to break the Tree Stumps that are dotted around your farm – this is the best way to start gathering Hardwood.
Later, you can then upgrade to a Steel Axe to break the even bigger Old Logs to gather larger quantities of Hardwood.
Occasionally, there is a slim chance of getting Hardwood from the chests and barrels that are located in the Mine when you break them.
