Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus – how to unlock

Are you trying to unlock New Game Plus in Spider-Man 2 but can’t find out how? Here’s everything you need to know about this mode. New Game Plus is a great feature that adds replayability to games by allowing you to replay the story while maintaining your already-unlocked skills, abilities, suit tech, and gadgets. This allows for a more fun and unique gameplay where enemies also become significantly harder to beat. However, after beating the main story, you’ll notice that there is no New Game Plus option.

Can you unlock New Game Plus in Spider-Man 2?

Unfortunately, the short answer is no, you can’t unlock and play New Game Plus in Spider-Man 2 yet. However, it will be added in the near future, just like it was done with the previous game.

Specifically, the community manager at Insomniac Games has confirmed on X that New Game Plus won’t be available at launch but is being worked on and will be introduced in the future.

Nevertheless, this isn’t the end of the world. If you want to extend your Spider-Man 2 playthrough there are other alternatives while waiting for New Game Plus.

What to do after completing Spider-Man 2

You can unlock the Ultimate difficulty option by beating the main story in Spider-Man 2 and offers the ultimate challenge as enemies become significantly harder to beat and deal more damage. If you’ve tried the Spectacular difficulty and thought it wasn’t hard enough, Ultimate is a must-try.

Also, you can consider completing all achievements and trophies in the game by completing side-missions, unlocking skills, and finding the various collectibles located around the map. After all, the map is massive and there’s definitely something you missed. If you’ve decided to go for the completionist route, check out our guide on all Spider-Bot locations in Spider-Man 2.

Keep in mind that Spider-Man 2 takes about 20-30 hours to beat, depending on whether you’re focusing just on the main story or you’re trying to complete everything.

In conclusion, there is currently no Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus mode, but the developers are planning to add it in the near future. Until then, I recommend trying the Ultimate difficulty and aiming to get all trophies and achievements in the game.
