How to finish Proof of justice sidequest in Octopath Traveler 2
To unlock the third “Proof of Justice” side story in the game, you need to complete both “Proof of Guilt” and “Proof of Innocence” sidequests. This story takes place in the Timberrain courthouse after Meylan disappears and Judge Astell is murdered. Meylan is accused of the murder, but talking to a Spectator reveals that the judges are trying to frame him.
To prove Meylan’s innocence, you need to obtain two pieces of evidence. First, Scrutinize the Clerk to learn about Judge Astell’s aunt in New Delsta. Then, talk to the Court Reporter to learn about a murder weapon thrown into a lake. Head to the South Timberrain Trail to find the Stolen Sword, and visit Judge Astell’s aunt to obtain the second piece of evidence.
Return to Timberrain with both pieces of evidence, and hand them in to the Spectator to end the “Proof of Justice” side story. Completing this side story will reward you with 30,000 leaves, a Fortifying Nut (L), and a Magic Nut (L). Keep in mind that the South Timberrain Trail is recommended for level 45 characters, so proceed with caution if you are at a lower level.
