When you unlock a new chapter, most of the time, you will be rewarded with a new mechanic.

For example, Chapter 4 is a pretty pivotal chapter in Fae Farm. In there you will unlock the barn and go talk to the Wisp Mother. She will take you to the Fae Realm and Floating Ruins.
