There has been a lot of speculation lately about a new mode to come to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, which has all but been confirmed in a since then deleted screenshot from a visit to Infinity LA Studios. But what does this Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode entail, exactly? There have definitely been many singular alternate modes already, what with zombies and unique scenarios.
Some very early speculations seem to refer to DMZ as something which should be vaguely similar to Escape From Tarkov, which is a hardcore and realistic multiplayer tactical FPS, which features a war between two opposing factions (military companies United Security “USEC” and “BEAR”, Battle Encounter Assault Regiment).
We have gathered together all we know and all the possible information about the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode, along with a possible release date.
What we know about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode
According to the Xbox website, “DMZ is an open-world, narrative-focused extraction mode where solo Operators or squads have free rein to complete faction-based missions, take on additional side objectives, engage with enemy Operators or AI combatants, and search for valuable items, all while fighting to survive toward exfiltration.”
So, it seems that the mode will indeed continue the game’s narrative in Warzone 2.0, allowing players and groups to storm around the place completing side objectives as they go.
This is, at the moment, everything we know about the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode. But we’ll be sure to update this article as soon as there will be more official information or confirmed leaks, which will probably continue, as we get closer to the release date.
