This Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora fishing guide will go through everything you need to know about how to fish and where to use caught fish. Fishing is an optional side activity, and it’s easy to miss or ignore if you focus on the story and other collectibles. While it is optional, catching fish will allow you to get some valuable materials for cooking. Additionally, catching fish is a great way to feed your Ikran. Let’s go through everything you need to know.
How to fish in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
To fish in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, use your spear or bow at any body of water where there are splashes, and use your Na’vi senses to aim for the fish. You can fish around Pandora, including any river or small lake. All you need to do is locate splashes of water (which are pretty common) and use your Na’vi senses (default hotkey: X) to see if there are fish.
Once you spot the fish, take out your bow or spear and go near. Once your aim turns red, shoot, and you’ll hit one of the fish there. If you’re struggling with aiming, use your Na’vi senses. The fish will remain highlighted for a few seconds after you exit the Na’vi senses so that you can hit them easily.
What to do with fishing materials
Now that you’ve managed to catch some fish let’s see what to do with them. There are two uses for fishing materials in Frontiers of Pandora:
- Cooking
- Feeding your Ikran
For the former, various recipes with fish will fill your energy bar and give you buffs. The best ones I’ve found include pairing fish with any fruit found around Pandora. As for the latter use, you can feed raw fish to your Ikran. One raw fish will fill its energy bar. Alternatively, if you level up your skills, you can unlock one that allows the Ikran to catch fish automatically when flying above lakes.
To wrap up this Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora fishing guide, you can catch fishing by aiming with your spear or bow at water splashes in any lake or river around Pandora. Then, you can use fish to feed your Ikran or to cook various valuable meals. If you want to get more rare materials, consider also checking out our Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora hunting guide.
