After waiting for many years, enduring bugs and issues, the release of this long-awaited adventure is upon us. So let’s find out all about a very important feature about Baldur’s Gate 3 how to heal. No one wants to bite the bullet before their time is up.
As with many other games, you can get back your precious hit points in many different ways. But, interestingly, potions might not really be the best way, as we will see.
Time, then, to help you deal with all health-related problems, in the game at least. Let’s look at the Baldur’s Gate 3 how to heal system so we can stand up and fight.
How to heal in Baldur’s Gate 3
The easiest ways to heal in Baldur’s Gate 3 are by casting a healing spell or drinking a healing potion. But that’s not all, as the healing system in the game is a bit more complicated than other other RPGs.
Healing, as with many other things in the game, is also governed by dice rolls. For example, using a potion restores some health, but it also rolls a dice. If a potion has “2d4+5 HP” means that the game will roll a four-sided die with the potion.
You will surely get 5 points of health, but after that it is up to the die. You might get up to 13 points, from a minimum of five and any numbers between those two. But that is not a huge problem, since there are not many potions in the game.
Potions can be used freely outside combat, but count as one turn during a fight. Considering all we said, a spell or a scroll might be better options.
Using a healing spell in Baldur’s Gate 3
The first spell you will use is Cure Wounds and heals 1d8+3 health points. Shadowheart will be the one in charge of it. She can heal three fixed health points, plus from one to eight random points when cast.
Later, the wizard will also learn Healing Word. Healing for less hit points, but having a longer range than her other spells. Naturally, later you can be granted access to more powerful healing spells.
That is all you need to know on the healing system in Baldur’s Gate 3. But should you need more tips and tricks on improving your playthrough, definitely do check out our how to unlock doors guide.
