How to complete Free Orpheus quest in Baldur’s Gate 3

To free Orpheus, you will need an Orphic Hammer. You probably first encountered Oprheus in the Astral Plane, so to get him out of his shackles, you are required to have this particular hammer.

You can get this hammer from Raphel, who can be found in the House of Hope in Avernus, but he will only give it to you once you bring him the Crown of Karus after the Absolute is eliminated. Or if you don’t want to listen to his demands, just steal the hammer from him. And yes, you will have to fight him as well.

Don’t have the hammer, but still want to free Orpheus? Well, they can try the following alternative ways:

  • Give the Netherstones to the Emperor, and he will eat Orpheus’ brain and become your ally. This is not exactly the best option.
  • If you have Karlach in your party, you can tell her to become a Mind Flayer. She will accept this fate, as she is already dying.
  • You can become the Mind Flayer, and protect the Netherstones.
