All Xenoblade Chronicles 3 classes and their roles

You’re probably knee-deep in JRPG goodness aren’t you? We see you there, hiding under the blankets with your NIntendo Switch and playing the latest MonolithSoft game – Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Whether you’re new to the series or a returning veteran, you’ll probably want to find out all the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 classes that you can use in the game.

That’s a valid point. You only start with a handful of classes in the JRPG, and the rest have to be obtained from Heroes that you can recruit along your hundred-hour journey. And boy, will it be a hundred-hour journey. We found that the tutorial alone lasts for at least a dozen hours – so Strap in.

That’s why we’ve put together this handy guide. Below, you’ll find all of the character classes as well as their role on the battlefield. Now you can plan which ones to obtain first based on your playstyle and preferences.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 classes

The classes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are split up into 3 different roles: Attacker, Defender, and Healer. Here are all the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 classes:

Attacker role

  • Swordfighter
  • Ogre
  • Flash Fencer
  • Yumsmith
  • Seraph
  • Royal Summoner
  • Stalker
  • Incursor
  • Soulhacker
  • Machine Assassin
  • Martial Artist
  • Full Metal Jaguar

Defender role

  • Zephyr
  • Heavy Guard
  • Lost Vanguard
  • Guardian Commander
  • Lone Exile

Healer role

  • Medic Gunner
  • Tactician
  • Troubadour
  • Strategos
  • Lifesage
  • War Medic
  • Thaumaturge
  • Signifer

Those are all the classes and their roles in the JRPG game. Once you’ve recruited Heroes with that class and used them in combat for a while, you’ll be able to swap that class onto any of the playable characters in the game. This means that your original cast of characters will take on the roles and abilities of the Hero that you swapped them from.
