Clean water is essential for your survival in Sons of The Forest, just like in any survival game. Turtle Shells are one of the ways you can collect water. You can find two types of turtles in the game: sea turtles and tortoises. However, only sea turtles drop Turtle Shells. You can find them on the beaches in the western, northern, eastern, and southern parts of the island. Tortoises do not drop shells, so do not waste your time killing them.

It is important to note that sea turtles do not always drop Turtle Shells. Therefore, you may have to kill many of these defenseless shelled reptiles to get the shells you need. Once you have obtained Turtle Shells, you can use them to collect water. To do this, open your inventory with the “I” key, then look at the upper right corner until you find the item. Now you can equip the turtle shell and use it to collect water.
