That’s a lot to keep in mind, so let’s find out how to beat Scourge of the Sea Octopath Traveler 2. All you have to do is read on below to find out everything you need to know.
How to defeat Scourge of the Sea in Octopath Traveler 2
At the start of the battle, the Scourge takes away two of your party members for two rounds. The two members are chosen at random, so it’s good to have two healers. Essentially, the Scourge dismisses two party members for two turns and does damage to your two team members. When the rest of your team returns, the Scourge uses team-hitting attacks and debuffs. Then, it sends away two of your party members again, and the cycle continues.
When you get the Scourge to 30,000 HP, it prepares its charge-up move. At this point, you must do everything you can to break the Scourge. Waste BP if necessary. That’s because if the Scourge “swallows” your party, only one party member will be left on the field, and the Scourge’s speed will increase, allowing it to attack multiple times in a row.
If the character left on the field has less than 2,400 health, they will likely die, and it’s game over. To avoid this, continue breaking the Scourge and using your built-up BP and latent abilities to deal damage. The Scourge periodically shapeshifts, changing its Shield points and weaknesses. You should use the Scholar’s Elemental Barrage or the Armsmaster Sixfold Strike at this point.
