How to complete the pilgrim protection quest in Octopath Traveler 2
The Pilgrim Protection side quest is located in the Flamechurch area in the Crestlands. Speak to the Elder outside the church to start the quest. You will need to place candles along the path to the cathedral, for which you need three Sacred Flame Candles.
There are three Clerics scattered in the Flamechurch and Flamechurch: Cathedral areas, each carrying a Sacred Flame Candle. You’ll basically need to use Path Actions. These are to steal, buy, entice, or mug the candles from the Clerics. So, you’ll be needing Throné, Osvald, Agnea, or Partitio.
Here is where to find the Sacred Flame Candles:
- First Sacred Flame: During the day: Outside the church, by the door. At night: Inside the church.
- Second Sacred Flame: During the day: Outside the church, on the lower walkway. At night: Inside the church.
- Third Sacred Flame: During the day: Outside the cathedral, by the south entrance. At night: Inside the cathedral, by the altar.
After you have gathered all three Sacred Flame Candles, you’re almost done with the quest. Now, all you need to do is to return to the Elder who gave you the Pilgrim Protection quest. Once you turn in the candles, he will reward you with the following items:
- 5,000 Leaves
- 1 Fortifying Nut
- 1 Tough Nut
