How to get to ??? island in Octopath Traveler 2
The first thing you need to do is to complete the ‘The Traveler’s Bag’ sidequest, which you can do at the end of Chapter 1. In this quest, you have to beat a thief found at a campfire near the start and give the bag back to Al.
Next, you have to complete the “Procuring Peculiar Tomes” quest, which you can get from the Library in Montwise. This quest has three parts: Dispatches from Beastling Island, Far Reaches of Hell, and The Curious Legend of the Great Wall. You can get Dispatches from Beastling Island by stealing or buying it from a merchant in Beastling Village. Far Reaches of Hell is in a chest in the guarded house in Crackridge, and The Curious Legend of the Great Wall is in Southern Stormhail Snows, held by the Archeologist near the mountain entrance.
Once you finish both quests, you can start ‘From the Far Reaches of Hell’. Go to Al in the Library, and look for Georges Lazuli on the Nameless Isle north of Toto’haha. Afterwards, beat the boss Gigantes and you’ll get How to Decipher Unknown Languages from George. Take the book back to Al to finish the quest and open the locked door on ??? Island.
Make your way to ‘???‘ in The Sundering Sea and you should see the door is open. You can now go in and find an injured Al and a big staircase. If you’re ready, go up the stairs and pick ‘Yes.’ This starts the battle against Galdera, the true final boss of Octopath Traveler 2.
