Ah yes, that very last fantasy you might have. One can’t help but wonder if somehow, when Square originally thought up the name as a “final” game before giving up RPGs for good, they knew that it was going to last forever. And well, we are up to its sixteenth chapter so there’s definitely more ground to cover and more enemies to defeat. But is Final Fantasy 16 coming to Xbox, people are wondering?
It surely is a question that is going to come up again and again, since the game has always been quite the staple for Sony’s very own PlayStation, all the way back from how Final Fantasy VII alone almost forced people to buy the console just to play that classic. Is Microsoft also going to get in on the action?
Well, let us not waste any more time. Is Final Fantasy 16 coming to Xbox? We’ll put everything we know below.
Is Final Fantasy 16 coming to Xbox?
Luckily, yes Final Fantasy 16 is coming to Xbox. It has been confirmed by Sony itself in its latest State of Play video announcement. Final Fantasy 16 will be a PS5 exclusive only for six months from its release.
From what we know, the new Squaresoft RPG should be released in the Summer of 2023 and we are definitely looking forward to seeing what new ideas, characters and narratives the Japanese developer will think of this time around. We know that the story follows Clive Rosfield, a young trainee in blade mastering, called “the First Shield of Rosaria” and tasked to protect his younger brother Joshua. What adventures await the two brothers?
We are surely awaiting new and exciting news and from the first previews, the game is definitely looking like a new direction for the franchise. Are fans going to be happy or will it just disappoint?
We’ll have to wait to find out. But while you are sitting there, still waiting for the latest Final Fantasy chapter, you might want to kill some time playing some other good RPGs like Xenoblade Chronicles or, perhaps, you also fancy some sci-fi stories, in that case, we definitely recommend taking a look at Starfield.
