Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer – can you play with friends?

Hogwarts Legacy might let you sort yourself into different houses, get up to mischief, and visit all the scenes from the books and movies, but can you play Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer? After all, the world that JK Rowling has created is one that should be explored with your besties.

the Hogwarts school teaches young witches and wizards how to manage their talents outside the world of muggles and it’s an iconic location from the franchise. Want to find Nearly Headless Nick with your pals or tease Moaning Myrtle?

Below, you’ll find everything we know about whether you can play Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer with your friends in either co-op or PvP in some way.

Does Hogwarts Legacy have multiplayer?

No, Hogwarts Legacy does not have multiplayer. The developers of the game have confirmed that there will be no multiplayer modes available to players, with the wizarding game instead focusing on the single-player experience. That means there’s no online or co-op to be seen.

This is a shame because Hogwarts Legacy is a game that would be fantastic to play with your friends in co-op as you explore the world of Hogwarts, but it’s also ripe for PvP as you fight other players with your spells.

Those who purchased the deluxe version of Hogwarts Legacy get access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena, which allows you to battle other (computer-controlled) wizards and cast the spells that should not be named. It seems like an easy mode to make multiplayer in the future, so we can’t rule out that an update or DLC won’t introduce online play to Hogwarts Legacy down the line.
